Getting married at Medway Register office?

Your Medway Register Office ceremony might be short, but that doesn’t mean your photographs have to feel rushed or your story has to feel small.

We’ll capture the important stuff as it happens, the hugs, the happy tears, the laughter and all those little moments you might otherwise miss. And yes, we’ll absolutely make time for some beautiful photographs of you together too.

Our approach is relaxed and gently guided, so you don’t need to know what to do with your hands, where to stand or how to magically “look natural” in front of a camera. We’ll help you with that bit.

And the lovely thing about getting married at the Register Office is that Rochester is right there. We can take a little wander, find some beautiful spots for your photographs and make the most of the historic streets, rather than spending half your day travelling from one place to another.

A few relaxed portraits, some photographs with your favourite people, and plenty of opportunities for those little moments to happen naturally.

About Medway Register Office

Medway Register Office is a ceremony-only venue in Northgate, Rochester, with two rooms available for weddings. The smaller Statutory Room is ideal for very intimate ceremonies holding up to 6 people, while the Library Room can accommodate up to 50 guests.

After your ceremony, you’re also just a short walk from Rochester’s historic streets, with plenty of options for photographs afterwards.

After the ceremony

The Medway Register Office has a small garden area where we can do group shots or you can just take a moment together as newlyweds. And because you’re right in the heart of Rochester, we also have the town itself to play with.

We can wander through the streets, stop for photographs as we go, and make the most of the architecture, little corners and character that Rochester has to offer. There’s no need to spend ages posing or disappear for a lengthy photoshoot if you don’t want to.  We’ll keep it relaxed and natural and  guide you when you need it.

You might want ten minutes, you might want a little longer. It really depends on what feels right for you and how you’d like to spend your day.

How much coverage do you actually need?

One of the lovely things about a register office wedding is that you don’t necessarily need a photographer for eight hours.

You might just want the ceremony and a little time afterwards for photographs with your favourite people and some portraits around Rochester. Or perhaps you’d like to start a little earlier, get some photographs of you getting ready, and stay for a drink or lunch afterwards.

There’s no need to pay for more coverage than you actually want.

For Medway Register Office weddings, I offer photography from 2 hours upwards at £250 per hour, so you can build your coverage around the day you’re actually planning.

Whether that’s a couple of hours or a little more, we’ll work out what makes sense for you. We’ll make time for the photographs because they’re important, while still keeping things relaxed, natural and enjoyable.
